Hallman Asphalt Founded
Hallman Asphalt was started after Bill Hallman was successful doing side jobs on the weekend. After quitting his full time job, decided to open up Hallman Asphalt doing small asphalt patching jobs around the Madison area.
Expansion to Residential Asphalt Paving
After requests for small driveway paving, Bill & Linda purchased a small asphalt paver and roller. Hired a few employees, now paving driveways full time. Linda Hallman was one of the first female dump truck drivers in the city of Madison.
Expansion to Commercial Asphalt Paving
Bill with a crew of 3-4 guys continued to pave driveways and now small parking lots. His only son Gavin was born. The family started to take some time away and travel north to enjoy hunting and fishing at their cabin.
Celebrating 20+ Years
Bill grew relations with Jim and Dan, two long time employees continuing paving driveways. Jim and Dan were valuable assets to the company for 20+ years.
The Next Generation of a Family Business
Gavin started to show interest in the business. He started buying sealcoat equipment and began to seal driveways and small parking lots.
Full Service Asphalt Maintenance and Paving
Gavin bought the business from Bill. Transitioned the business into a full service asphalt maintenance company. Gavin and Jen welcomed three sons to their family, which will transition Hallman Asphalt to a third generation.
